Winter desert engagement sessions are a must for California couples. You see, we’ve got amazing deserts in Southern California but the desert it way too hot for me once summer rolls around. In the winter, however, you’ll find crisp nights and cool breezes that make adventuring through the many deserts of SoCal the perfect weekend activity. Whether it’s the iconic Joshua trees of Joshua Tree National Park or the large rock formations at Mormon Rock, the desert landscape makes for the perfect winter engagement session backdrop.

Mia and Michael spent their college years together in Arizona. They learned to love and appreciate the beauty of desert through their time there. When they moved back to Southern California they wanted to infuse the memories of college into their session by choosing to do a winter desert engagement session at Mormon Rock. The afternoon was a perfect 65 degrees with a slight breeze. With lo-fi filling the air around us, we spent a lot of time looking at the beautiful rocks, reflecting on the next season of life to come and releasing the pressures of the week. I find that the outdoors does that for my clients and me. There is something about being outside and seeing the vastness of God’s creation around us that reminds us to let go. After an hour of roaming we ended the night with some magical blue hour moments.

Please enjoy their winter desert engagement session –
