The face behind Olive and Oath

Hi. I’m Reagan, the owner and lead photographer of Olive and Oath. You may already know who I am from reading my about me page or maybe you follow along on instagram (@oliveandoath). If not, I wanted to share a little more about me outside of weddings and work.

I married my best friend, Douglas, back in June of 2018. We’ve lived in our sweet little home in Downtown Riverside until September 2023 when we bought our current home on the other side of downtown. Though we haven’t added any kiddos to the mix yet, we have a 4 year old maltipoo named Eloise that we are obsessed with. We adopted her during the pandemic when she was 4 months old. She came home to us on July 4th!

Since I was a kid, I have been a big dreamer. You hear the phrase glass half full or glass half empty, well I am a glass overflowing kind of gal. The world is big and beautiful and there are so many reasons to have a good day. This deep, over flowing joy is partly my nature but, mostly, because of my God. I wouldn’t be who I am or where I am, if it wasn’t for Jesus. I found God for the first time in middle school, then again in high school, and yet again when I was 19. It was a classmates snapchat story of a Friday night church service that got me back at church after a season of many heartbreaks. It was at this church that I started healing from trauma, made some of my closest friends and met my husband. I won’t spent a lot of time sharing how I got into weddings since there is a whole blog you can read about that here, but I do want to share what life looks like now.

After 5 years of business, I am finally finding a solid sense of balance between work and life. I love to spend afternoons cultivating my home and hosting friends. Learning how to cultivate hobbies outside of work has had a major impact on my creativity. There is inspiration all around and I’ve loved finding it in the slow evenings in the garden, long walks through downtown Riverside, thrifting decor, game nights (gloom haven anyone?), reading and so much more. This slower pace has allowed me to enjoy all my work and work travel so much more. I’m looking forward to more backyard movie nights and trying new recipes… like baking bread! There is so much more I want to share, but I’ll stop here. If you want to chat more, connect with me over on Instagram: @oliveandoath
