This Dos Pueblos Orchid farm wedding will forever be a favorite day of mine. Working with couples that value art and presence always make for an incredible outcome. The bride is an artist herself and wanted each element to be inspired and present. From creating the seating chart herself to hand writing a unique postcard for each guests place setting, this day had personality infused throughout. The brilliant Joyan Designs brought together Floratique and Ali Beck Photo to create a bohemian, romantic wedding day with green accents and mustard grass galore.
Some of my favorite parts of this venue are...
+ The ceremony location is a breathtaking view of the ocean.
+ The cocktail hour and reception are in a greenhouse. The reception greenhouse is full of stringed lights that make for the most magical night time photos.
+ The layout and colors make for interesting and beautiful photography, every time.
+ This venue can fit a LOT of guests.
+ The easy addition of a live band because there is ample space.
This wedding venue is tucked away on wide open spaces overlooking the ocean in Goleta. While it makes for an amazing guests experience and breathtaking views, this space can be a little tricky if you aren't prepared. I recommend always working with a reputable planner that works this venue regularly (Array Creative, Joyan Designs, Nina Moore etc.). Since this venue is so sprawling and has limited parking, it is required that you work with a shuttle or bus company to get your guests to the venue. They'll be dropped off at the ceremony spot and can choose to walk or ride the bus back to the reception. You will also need to source your own vendors, because this venue comes with the space and that's it. This is another reason hiring a reputable planner is crucial for a successful wedding day at Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm.
Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm does not have a bad side. Truly this is the prettiest venue I have ever had the privilege of working at and your photo options are endless. The ceremony location is overlooking to ocean so it can get quite sunny and a little warm on those long summer days. Besides that, the rest of your day will be happily covered within the two big green houses attached to the main building. The reception is perfect for both natural light and flash photography because there are so many stringed lights throughout the main greenhouse.
Family portraits, wedding party and couples portraits can really be taken anywhere. Like I said, there isn't a bad side to this venue. Your photographer will likely choose in front of one of the greenhouses, at the ceremony altar or in the open fields. If you are taking photos right after getting ready, it is also common to those photos at the getting ready hotel. The Ritz Carlton Bacara is a popular choice for many couples getting married at Dos Pueblos and has many stunning photo locations too.
