House on Metolius is the perfect location for a weekend away with an intimate guest count. Tucked away in Camp Sherman, Oregon, this venue is named after the stunning lake that runs through their property.
Some of my favorite parts of this venue are...
+ The beautiful views of the sisters peaks surrounding the venue.
+ On-site housing for you and up to 40 guests.
+ Wild flowers and breathtaking greenery.
+ Cozy snowy weather during the winter.
+ Able to accomodate a multi-day wedding weekend of events.
This wedding venue is tucked away in Camp Sherman and somewhat off-grid with limited cell service. This con is well worth it for those that wanted to be truly present for their whole wedding weekend, but can make logistics a little crazier. I recommend always working with a reputable planner that works this venue regularly like the Indigo Bride who planned this sweet wedding day. One of the biggest benefits to House on Metolius is the use of the cabins for all the guests. A weekend full of festivities here allows for your guests to comfortably join and leave as they please, as well as, explore the grounds through hiking and fishing.
House on Metolius does not have a bad side. Truly this is the prettiest venue I have ever had the privilege of working at and your photo options are endless. You can decide to put your ceremony and reception in a variety of locations on the property, allowing for a unique experience for you and your guests! Since the space is quite sprawling, it is recommended that you rent bathrooms for the lower lawn and bring in some form of external lighting. Our couple decided to do a stringed light setup over their tables and taco stand for a cozy late night vibe.
Family portraits, wedding party and couples portraits can really be taken anywhere. Like I said, there isn't a bad side to this venue. I personally love the open fields, the bridge, in front of the house and to the side of the main house with the metolius on the background. The options are endless and your photographer will direct based on the lighting during your allotted time.
