I don't think I will ever get over the magic that A+L dreamed up for their wedding day at the stunning Lodge at Malibou Lake. They chose this peaceful oasis as their venue, because of the stunning and simple design inside and out. They leaned into the classic vibes with a black tux and stunning gown. Everything from the blooming flowers to the blue lake across the street, was an inspiring element to create their classy, organic wedding design.

Some of my favorite parts of this venue are...

+ the tree covered walkways surrounding the lodge

getting married at the Lodge at Malibou Lake

Since this venue features the getting ready spaces, ceremony and reception all in one location you can expect a smooth, stress free timeline from morning to night. Even though it's next to a main street, you'd never know once you step inside. It's peaceful garden aesthetic feels like an oasis.

This venue includes the entire space and getting ready rooms. You'll need to source your own photo, video, floral, rentals and DJ. This really allows you to create whatever day you'd like.

When looking for where to take your formal group portraits, there are two main options. First, in the main gardens. This space is large enough to take all your family and wedding party photos, plus it has wonderful diffused natural light. Second, across the street at the lake. This location is stunning but harder to accomplish because depending on the time of day and the season you are getting married in. Your photographer should direct according to the light. As for your personal couples portraits, there are dozens of spots to choose from. Not a single corner of the space isn't photogenic. Notable mentions are the gardens, the bay window, the park across the street and the side doorway with the tree framing it.

The Lodge at Malibou Lake has a wide variety of lighting situations. While the ceremony space features panoramic greenery, the lighting can be harsh, especially during the warmer summer months. The reception and getting ready rooms require a photographer with skill in natural low light and flash photography.
